Fire Penguin Disco Panda - Skrillex

Like all the blogs lately, we're a little confused to weather songs are Skrillex's or not. I found this song called "Fire Penguins, Disco Panda" claiming to be by Sonny and it is pretty awesome. The soft bleeping synth turns into the dirty Skrillex we all enjoy. I've included a download down below.

Red Bull's Custom "Cubed" Halfpipe

Since all the snow is starting to melt, you need some training facilities to keep your athletes in top shape.. That's exactly what Red Bull and Simon Dumont did last week in Squaw Valley.  A 22-foot custom competition-height superpipe was designed and built for the 24 year old skier to test new tricks on. Later on in the week the pipe was cut to give it a "quarterpipe" cubed look, that Dumont has been dreaming of for years. This is one of the craziest things I've seen in the sport. Enjoy.

Some Songs 5.26.11

Another day is here and more songs have been released. To try and keep you up to date, here is a few tracks. A new instrumental track called "Thing Called Love" was just released by the British trio, Above and Beyond. The song has that classic UK trance feel that the kids are going to love it. I've found another artist to fall in love with! New producer "Flexit" who was born and raised in São Paulo,Brazil, has been DJing since he was 12! What is with such young producers in Europe? With mainly releasing electro tracks, his influences come from Alex Mind, Porter Robinson, Lazy Rich etc. Alright now, the last song is dedicated for the ladies. The song is called "Flatliner" and it's by Dutch Trance artist  C.N.O.

BONUS

. Russ Chimes has just released his new EP including the tracks Tonic / Helix. Both tracks are unreal. You'd think that creating your own label and producing original material would keep you busy enough, dear Russ has still found the time to deliver a 90's flavored remix of Broke One's 'Go Go Go' as well.

Spotlight: Wakeskater Tanner Champion

[o] Drew Glaser

We recently contacted local wakeskater Tanner Champion and asked him a few questions about this up coming summer. We're really stoked to see what's in store for this kid! He hooked us a a little video as well. Enjoy.

INTERVIEW

Alright man, let's start with the basics. Name, Age, Hometown, Sponsors, Favorite Beer.
Tanner Champion, 19, Nanaimo, Ripcurl, Dragon, Etnies, Alternative Groove, SlayshTank Media.

I am from the Island so I have to support Lucky Lager!

Have you always just been a Wakeskater or did you get into through Wakeboarding?
Kneeboarding was always my favourite.

Nah I wakeboarded for a bit, but found wakeskating to just be way different, I had a lot more fun skating then I did strapped in.

It seems as though Wakeboarding is deffinetly a lot bigger then Wakeskating, do you think will get to that level?

Yes and No, It seems to be going in a total different direction right now. Wakeskating is a lot newer, and growing very fast. Theres only so many more flips one can do on a wakeboard, but wakeskating hasn’t even began to expand. Soon enough there will be more wakeskaters, it is a lot more cost friendly too!

Is there a lot of local talent is the Wakeskate scene?

There isn’t a large scene to begin with is the problem. I ride with my girlfriend and buddies, there all progressing pretty quick! It`s fun to watch them learn, keeps me on my toes. In BC there’s a couple other sluggers, James Balzer is an OG whos been doing this for awhile, Taylor Hanley is down in Victoria getting work done and im sure there’s some little groms just killing it under the radar.

During the Winter, wasn't it tough to get riding time in? Or did you have to travel to get you ride on?

My girlfriend suits up and drags me around always. A couple other buddies are stupid enough to want to ride in the cold as well. Florida is defiantly a lot nicer place to be though.

Now that summers here your gonna be riding all the time, stoked?

Ive been riding all the time for the last few months! But really the warm weather is very long over due. Summer brings tubers, and tubers bring waves. So if you are out tubing when were out jamming- stay away!

So I here you got Backside Flips, true? Any other big tricks in the books now?

True! Ive been trying a lot of switch stuff these days. I just got switch flips again last week!
Ive just been winching a lot lately. A winch is basically a motorized spool of rope that allows us to shred anywhere and anything. It brings a whole new page to wakeskating. Just trying to push the envelope, trying to be original!

Are there a lot of competitions in the near future for Mr. Champion.

Summers going to be nuts. We have all the local stops, Sproat lake has a big one that everyone should go to! I will be at a Cable stop in Manitoba, Wakestock in Ontario, Nationals are in Kamloops this year, and then Toe Jam at the end of summer in Florida.

ENVƎ is all about the Electro music, do you get down?

Who doesn’t get down! Of course I get down.

Thanks for the love ENVƎ

Les Twins / edIT - Ants

So yesterday i was browsing through some viral videos and came across this video of two twin brothers breaking it down. The dancing on it's own was pretty spectacular but the beat behind it was a super laid back. I was doing some blogging this morning and happened to stumble across the artist who produced the track. Edward Ma, better known as edIT, produced this song back in 2004 and I think it's still awesome. Enjoy.

What a Fucking Night. . .

So in the end, the long weekend treated me pretty well. A night filled with drinks, drama and damsels in distress is easily forgotten and replaced with the reality we call life. A soundtrack for the day would be nice, don't you think? Today I am gonna hook you guys up with a Skream track from a little while ago, called "Where You Should Be". It features the vocals of Sam Frank, his voice is super filtered and sounds awesome. There is also Jack Beats' and Laidback Luke's take on the track.  Oh and a "Darker Dub" remix done by Zed Bias.
"Heartbreaker" was definitely one of my favorite tunes when it came out, so it was nice to find a little "Three Fingers Remix". It's a fresh new take on a classic MSTRKRFT song.

Lazy Sunday Vol 2.

Ahhhhh, sunday is finally here. The first day of the week, that always feels like the last. I'm sure some of you can still smell the alcohol on your breath or your digging through that pile of shoes in the hall to find your "left" one. Once you've put yourself back together you can take a breather and listen to a few mellow tracks I've selected for The Envious Fans. First a little Knight Stalker with his newest track "Wonderful", it's super chill. Second is a French Producer who goes by the name of "Pyramid". All his stuff is really good production and most of his stuff is free off his soundcloud. I've also put a track called "Rise And Fall" by We Plants Are Happy Plants. They all have a FREE Download, so please take advantage. As a bonus today, their is a new Nero/Sub Focus track called promises. Enjoy.

Rainman's Latest Electrohouse Banger'

Bloggers get behind in their post, it's just something that happens. I'll do my my best to improve on it. A few days ago RAINMAN dropped an electrohouse remix of Ursa Major's "Low Rises". This song definitely has the classic RAINMAN feel with it's awesome use of the vocals and a catchy synth line. Layered with awesome effects and some dutch sound , this is definitely going to be in your top 10. Enjoy.

Savvy for a Saturday Night

Everyone loves the nights out with your friends, even if you don't remember. Saturday is here and I'm not to sure about you, but I'm ready to party. Here is a few songs for your night. Ok, so I'm gonna start off the tracklist with a song dedicated to the ladies. A house bangin' remix of Spencer and Hill's "I Spy" by Handyman. TWO! A new duo from LA, who go by the name of "kfrtkds", just released their latest track "Your Blowin". I personally think it kills. Lastly "Chase (Geometry Remix)" by Barresto. These songs are all super fresh so, Enjoy.

BONUS

I can't find a download for this song yet. But the songs will be released on May 30th, so get excited.

Raise Your Weapon Remixes!

Hype, enough said! Raise your weapon was probably one of the most epic songs of 2010 and to see a few awesome remixes be released is even better. The first remix is done by a 16 year old producer from France. He goes by the name of "Madeon" and with this kid only being in his teens he is going to be a force in the French house scene. Check out his souncloud. Number two today is my favorite. A remix done by Noisia! Damm this song hits hard. It uses  Greta's vocals beautifully and then it just turns into filth. Enjoy.

It's coming to an end. . .

Since snowboard season is coming to a wrap, I wanted to give you guys a little "32 Spot Check" at Mammoth. Riders include Spencer Schubert, Chris Bradshaw, Chris Grenier and many more. With a little Andre Nickatina playing in the background, who can complain? Enjoy.

Amazing Weekend!

I know, I know, we are horrible individuals for not posting for this long! It seems every time our events come around the blog is neglected. I'll try to make sure this doesn't happen next event. But if you were at "Mat the Alien" at Spice Lounge on Saturday, you were definitely in the right place. "Dubversity" and  "Eh-StaTuZ" perfectly loosened up the dance floor so Mat could come on and just destroy the people. Mat set was very interesting, filled with a lot of different music and of course his amazing scratching. Pictures from the event will  be up later this week.

We want to thank Dubversity and Eh-StaTuZ for throwing down some unreal opening sets. Spice Lounge for hosting the event and we want to thank all you ENVIOUS fans for making it, was it was. Here are a few new tracks I'm been listening too as a BONUS. Enjoy.

DUBSmack May Mix by RAINMAN

After a long wait, Rainman has released another mixtape. This time with the DUBSmack May Mix. I'm so excited to see him  putting out mixes again. Back before Rainman was doing a lot of producing, I always used to pump his mixes. They're guaranteed to have the filthiest DUB and probably a lot of songs you've never heard! Four minutes into the mix and my ears were already being destroyed by the filth. The mix cools down over some time, perfect for the end of a long night. Track listing included under the mix. As a bonus, down below there is one of Rainman's latest tracks called "Thundercalp". An electrohouse banger' released on Digital Storm Records.  Enjoy.

"ELECTREATS"

Back on the grind it is. Monday means back to school and the jobs await. Grabbing that coffee and cigarette with few new electro songs would make the day a little better, wouldn't you say? Well if you say so! Here is some bangin electro tracks I've scoped over the last few days. First is an original by Alex Mind, a Brazilian producer, who is my mind is just slaying electro beats. A little Lazy Rich is exactly what is needed to compliment it and then a new DJ Kue remix of Hall and Oates' classic "Out of Touch". This is the type of track that will fill the dance floor. Don't forget to download these tracks. Enjoy.

Lazy Sunday Vol 1.

I don't know what you were getting up to last night, but hopefully you are hungover and trying to string the pieces of your night back together. Here are a few songs to help you think. Firstly is a remix done by Lewis Godowski, better know as "DJSB". The remix is a lovely take on Lykke Li's soothing track "I know your places", just beautiful. Number two on the docket is Star Slinger with his APRIL "FABRIC MIX". Right now if someone were to ask me "what is some chilled out music" first thing to come to mind is anything from Star Slinger. Using tons of vintage vocals and awesome percussion, you'll get hooked. Free Download on the Soundcloud. Lastly I've tossed in a little RAC Remix. Who doesn't like RAC, pffffft. All songs are free today, Enjoy.

Damn Stupid

Damn Stupid is a new name to me, but the music is awesome. With his/her/their last two hits being huge releases on Beatport, with the release of "Goodbye Girl" they were going for a perfect 3/3 track to banger' ratio. It seems like Damn Stupid is the new force to be reckoned with. "Goodbye Girl" features a very noticeable sample from Wolfgang Gartner and Deadmau5's jam "Animal Right". If this isn't a hit, what is?  I've included their first banger' "Beatrock and the "Bodybangers Remix" with a free download. Enjoy.
